Borneol is a terpene with an herbaceous menthol aroma found in mint, rosemary, mugwort and camphor. It is used in Chinese medicine for combating fatigue, stress, and recovering from illness. Borneol exhibits anti-inflammatory, anti-nociceptive and antiviral properties. It is a potent inhibitor of herpes simplex virus type 1.
